The Santa Cruz Trek – Peru

The Santa Cruz Trek is located in the Cordillera Blanca range in the Andes. It is considered one of the most beautiful treks in world. I can not say it’s not. Oh, how beautifull it was, WOW ! I started in the village of Vaqueria. Even if we could not make it to the top of the Punta Union pass, the highest point on the trek at 4750m of elevation, I loved it. I definitly need to go back and do the other side of the Punta Union pass and see Alpamayo !

This was the acclimatisation hike for the Huayhuash circuit.

Here is a selection of pictures from the trek, enjoy 🙂

The mountains were so nice to look at ⛰️

Just before arriving at camp at the foot of the Tuctubamba mountain we see in the back
Taulliraju is the leftmost peak in the background (5,830 m). The Tuctubamba mountain is the one in front (5,240 m).
This view is just before (or after) the Punta Union pass.
