Day 8: 7.4 milestone – Tray Mountain Shelter to Deep Gap Shelter

Mile marker: 65.8 Miles today: 7.4

What a day! What a wet, cold & windy day!!!

Puff and I where on trail by 8h30 that morning with the intention to reach Dick’s Creek Gap.

Rain started pretty soon that morning. Being cold & wet made the uphill so much harder.

By the time I reached the last shelter before Dick’s Creek, I needed to stop & take cover. I did not want to continue being as cols as I was. Puff decided to continue the 3.6 miles left (which is not much, but hey…).

When I got to the shelter, 3 other person were there. With time, more people started coming in deciding to stop their day of hiking.

This is where I meet a few person with who I would be hiking with a little. A also meet “Mayor” there. He proposed a trail name for me: “pretty lucky”.

Let’s just say a few things happened on trail for me…and I got lucky. Like when on day 5 I almost lost my tent…a few seconds after, I got a strange feeling. I looked at my backpack & realized my tent was not on top of it…it fell on trail 😅
