Day 7: 15.4 miles – Low Gap Shelter to Tray Mountain Shelter

Mile marker: 58.4 Miles today: 15.4

My biggest day of hiking so far! More than 15 miles today.

Puff and I started hiking around 9h15. It was a cold morning. We arrived at 6h20 at the shelter for the night.

At Blue Mountain Shelter I saw this written on the Shelter: “You either quit or keep going, they both hurt”. I did not know then that the next day was gonna hurt 😅

The first half of the hike to Unicoi Gap went smoothly. Then the day ended with some uphills.

Unicoi Gap

I was in my head a lot this day & missing people back home.

That night, I did my first bear hang ever. The bear cables where down, so a PCT bear hang I did… it’s a good thing a took a picture of it before trail. It helped.

That night was cold & windy.

My air mattress popped that night around 10 PM. It ripped on top. I did a nice field repair.
