Trying slack packing & passing the 400 mile marker

Today I decided to try slack packing (only carry my day pack).

The last few days, my shins splits are getting better. But doing bigger mile days, I do feel them more at the end of the day. So, I figure, it’s a nice way to give them “a break”…at least get some load off.

The shuttle drive to the forest road was nice. I had a great conversation with the lady who drove me. We talked about life: love, relationship, happiness & family. It really helped me find some peace about things I’ve been thinking about. I thank her so much.

I saw today as a small day, especially after doing 16/17 mile days. So I took it slow. I took my time to admire & look around.

This section of trail is so beautiful: Wow. The river, the cascades, the butterflies, the falls !!! So georgous.

The trail is nice & easy as well.

Slack packing today southbound towards the hostel was nice because I got to see so many people.
