Day 26: 17.9 miles – Roaring Fork Shelter to Hot Spings, NC

Mile marker: 275.1 Miles today: 17.9

Around 11h00 that morning, I heard my first ever tree fall. It makes an impressive noice.

The last few days, I noticed the sound of the cracking of the trees sometimes do.

But behind me, close, it was definitely the sound of a tree falling.

Also, the night before, close to the shelter, a tree fell. It actually fell on a tent of a hiker. Luckily, it got diverted by an other tree & it only hit the bottom of the tent. The hiker was okay, it did break a pole.

I got to hostel at Hot Spings around 3h45 that day.

Trail magic was present: bergers, hot-dogs & drinks!

I also got trail magic from an other hiker that night. Story shared with me the “extra” of his super: pork chops, patatoes & broccoli.

It was delicious.
